Spy (2015)
Daniel's Review
Melissa McCarthy’s latest film, and the result is a hilarious good time, ‘Spy’, directed by Paul Feig, who also worked with McCarthy on their other efforts ‘Bridesmaids’ and ‘The Heat’.
‘Spy’ follows Susan Cooper, a CIA analysts, who helps her partner Agent Bradley Fine (played by Jude Law). But when something goes wrong, it’s up to Susan to track and report Rayna Boyanov (played by Rose Byrne).
‘Spy’ is an often hilarious film that has huge laughs present in the jokes department, and while the story is solid, it does get somewhat lost in the film’s laugh out loud scenarios.
The acting has strong performances by the whole cast, including praises to Melissa McCarthy, Rose Byrne and Jude Law. Also worth noting is the action sequences are very well done, and I now think Paul Feig would be perfect for a Marvel movie. Petition signed!
‘Spy’ is a funny good time comedy at the movies, and while it does preach for being a tad overlong, it is still a hilarious time with strong comedic performances and a solid story present.
‘Spy’ will have you laughing from start to finish.
