Pitch Perfect (2012)

Daniel's Review

Get ready to sing out loud with ‘Pitch Perfect’, a musical/comedy hybrid that is both catchy and hilarious.

The film follows Beca (Anna Kendrick) as she attends her first year at college, mainly thanks to her father; since he is a professor at her daughter’s college. Since Beca doesn’t want to attend college, and wants to instead produce music as a DJ, she is forced to join one of the clubs, which so happens to be the Barden Bellas; an all-female a cappella music group which are out to beat The Treblemakers at nationals, after last year’s defeat.

‘Pitch Perfect’ is a mix of ‘Glee’, but the characters are really relatable, and have some character development behind them. Beca; the shy-quiet girl who pushes people away, Fat Amy; an eccentric personality and the funniest member of the group, and so on. And to top that, the acting is pretty spot-on.

The film has a stellar cast, perfectly cast for the film which features talents such as Anna Kendrick, Skylar Astin, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow and many others who make the film hilarious and heart-warming.

‘Pitch Perfect’ is a non-stop hilarious ride, filled with show stopping musical numbers and a great story to boot, along with greatly developed characters and some flying burritos.

‘Pitch Perfect’ sings a high note.

“A-ca-believe it”.
