Minions (2015)
Daniel's Review
Everyone’s favourite yellow minions are back in a prequel to ‘Despicable Me’ titled ‘Minions’ that set the minions to 1968 B.G. (Before Gru).
Before I start the review, I have never seen the first two ‘Despicable Me’ films, or any of Illumination Entertainment’s previous films, such as ‘Hop’ or ‘The Lorax’.
The story follows the minions’ existence into this world, and set to find their new boss. They land to New York, only to find out they need to get to Orlando for the annual Villain-Con.
The film at times has some clever and original jokes present, but it isn’t as consistent with the laughs.
The film’s story is enjoyable and fun, but at times you do question some of the story elements, but nevertheless ‘Minions’ will make you smile, even if you are not a fan of the yellow guys or the ‘Despicable Me’ franchise.
The film is fun, but does lose steam towards the end of the film’s climax.
Score: 6.5/10
