Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 (2010)
Daniel's Review
The first part of the two part finale for the ‘Harry Potter’ series.
The first part sees Harry, Ron and Hermione searching for Horcruxes to defeat Lord Voldemort. This is the first ‘Harry Potter’ film where the series’ main setting, Hogwarts, isn’t featured in the film, making for a refreshing change of pace for the series.
‘Deathly Hallows – Part 1’ is only one part of a much larger story, offering no conclusion to the ‘Deathly Hallows’ story, although the film still offers enough action that the film never runs out of magic.
However, at times the film is a bit slow-paced. Although, this film’s great achievement is the development of the characters, which are all acted brilliantly from the film’s main cast.
‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1’ is a great build-up to the final installment, ‘Deathly Hallows – Part 2’, offering enough character development and story progression, while also giving an emotional conclusion.
It’s hard not to shed a tear or two.
