Crocodile Dundee (1986)

Daniel's Review

The highest grossing Australian movie of 1986, and is still number 1 as it is still the highest grossing Australian film of all-time. Period.

This movie was such a phenomenon back in the day, that it led with two sequels and made Paul Hogan an international star.

Up until a few days ago, I had never seen ‘Crocodile Dundee’. I know it’s shocking and strange. But I got the lucky opportunity to see it in a theatre on the big screen and I’m, a bit, mixed on this movie.

I loved the first half of this movie set in the Australian outback. Not only is it the first time we see Paul Hogan as Mr. Mick Crocodile Dundee, but we are invited into this world that is hilarious and just entertaining to watch. I loved the first half of this movie, but for me, the second half isn’t as strong as the first.

It has some nice comedic moments and given us a famous one-liner that has become a somewhat legacy in Australia, but to me, it just wasn’t as consistent nor interesting enough than the first half of the movie.

Still, I did enjoy it and still had a great time viewing this Aussie classic for the first time.
